Top selling agent in the Harry Norman Intown office, Savannah Ferguson, has been selling Intown real estate over the last five years. She joined Harry Norman Realtors five years ago as she began her career in real estate. Coming from museum and curatorial backgrounds and living Intown for over ten years, Savannah worked to understand how she could marry her real estate career with her affinity for preserving older resources and selling homes in Atlanta’s Intown markets. With this in mind, she completed her Master’s Degree in Historic Preservation from Georgia State University in 2006. Under this program, Savannah learned many aspects which proved invaluable to her career including understanding architectural styles and building construction of older homes, what it means to live in local historic districts and the benefits of working to invest in and sustain our built environments as many people are returning to Atlanta’s urban core of older neighborhoods to live.
“More and more people are moving into the city,” she says. “Many buyers with whom I have worked were tired of their commutes and desire a lifestyle that embraces living in a more walkable community with access to diverse cultural attractions and public transit. Many are attracted to the pockets of our Intown historic neighborhoods because of these things and the ‘sense of place’ created by the architecture of the homes, greenspace and quaint commercial districts.”
Savannah is absolutely smitten with her office – that is, Atlanta’s urban neighborhoods. “I love my profession - assisting my clients to establish their goals of buying and selling Intown while advocating the value of Atlanta’s older homes & neighborhoods with all of their character and charm. I am confident that homes values in the Intown market will remain steady if not increase over the next decade and beyond. Transit, gas prices, eco-friendly living and building ‘green’ – these are all very real issues for people today which makes the core of our city and Intown neighborhoods more desirable and sensible. New Urbanism is on the rise and I support this movement to promote the creation, restoration and revitalization of livable communities in compact urban spaces. I work with clients who undertand the quality of life that this shift in urban development supports.
During her career, Savannah has consistently ranked in the top 20% of her sales office (2003-2008) and has also obtained the following designations: Senior Marketing Consultant, Accredited Buyer Representative, Accredited Seller Representative and Accredited Relocation Specialist. In her first year of real estate, she received a Rookie of the Year award for dollar volume sold and is a member of the Atlanta Board of Realtor’s Million Dollar Club. In addition, Savannah is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and the Atlanta Preservation Center. As a Georgia native and being raised on the coast, she enjoys (when she can get away) long days on the beach, kayaking, fishing and tennis.
